Network Rapid Analysis Toolkit (NetRAT)

Solution Components

A NetRAT™ solution generally consists of a single server and multiple clients.

NetRAT Server:

  • One server for the system/network under test
  • Supported on COTS hardware – rack mount servers, desktop PCs, and laptops
  • Recommended COTS computing resources: Intel i5, 8 GB RAM, 2 TB hard drive

NetRAT Client:

  • One client per instrumented endpoint
  • Supported on COTS hardware – rack mount servers, desktop PCs, and laptops
  • Recommended COTS computing resources: Intel i3, 4 GB RAM, 250 GB hard drive
  • NetRAT client software is also supported on the NetRAT-HH™ platform

A GPS kit is typically required for COTS platforms but not for the NetRAT-HH platform which has an integrated GPS receiver. NetRAT client features for the NetRAT-HH platform are the same as those for COTS hardware. The NetRAT-HH platform supplements the common NetRAT client feature base with hardware control of radio PTT for use in voice testing.
